Point Grey Research's Imaging Products line includes all of our single-lens IEEE-1394 (FireWire) and USB 2.0 CCD and CMOS cameras. All Imaging Products are provided as a complete hardware and software system. The FlyCapture® Software Development Kit provides a common software interface to control all Point Grey Imaging Products and is currently bundled with every imaging product.

Chameleon™ 

The Chameleon™ USB 2.0 digital video camera from Point Grey Research is a complete, cost effective and reliable imaging solution. A high sensitivity Sony EXview HAD CCD® sensor, combined with a hi-speed USB 2.0 digital interface, makes the Chameleon an ideal choice for demanding imaging applications such as object and gesture tracking, test and measurement,life and bioscience, augmented reality, multitouch display, security and biometrics, and robot guidance.

Grasshopper™
The Grasshopper® IEEE-1394b digital camera line offers a large selection of high resolution, high sensitivity sensors and an ultra fast 800Mb/s digital interface. Attractive pricing makes these powerful cameras ideal for OEMs and system integrators who need compact systems that deliver 0.3M, 1.4M, 2.0M or 5.0M images at high frame rates. The Grasshopper cameras are particularly effective in demanding imaging applications such as those used in electronics manufacturing, life sciences and microscopy, surveillance and security, and ITS.

Flea®2

At 29x29x30mm, the Flea®2 is even smaller than the original Flea camera and is designed to have the form factor of similar industry standard analog cameras. The 800Mb/s interface enables full frame rate RGB image transmission and even more cameras on the same bus. The IEEE-1394b cable with jack screws allows a more secure connection to the camera.

Firefly® MV
The Firefly® MV camera is an extremely small and inexpensive digital camera that uses a 1/3” wide-VGA CMOS sensor with global shutter to provide near-IR performance at fast frame rates. Configuration options include a choice of 400 Mb/s IEEE 1394 or 480 Mb/s hi-speed USB 2.0 digital interface, board-level or housed form factor, and M12 microlens or C/CS lens mount. Ten different models are designed to address a wide variety of imaging applications, such as object and gesture tracking, optical character recognition (OCR), augmented reality, and multitouch interface technology.

Dragonfly®2
The Dragonfly®2 camera is an OEM style board level camera designed for imaging product development. It was developed for easy design transition from the original Dragonfly camera, and offers double the standard frame rate, auto-iris lens control and on-board color processing.

Dragonfly Express™
The Dragonfly Express™ camera is an extension of the popular Dragonfly. It has a similar form factor as the original Dragonfly, but uses a 1/3" Kodak sensor and IEEE-1394b interface to achieve fast frame rates that are ideal for vision product integration.

FlyCapture® SDK
The FlyCapture® Software Development Kit that comes with every camera provides a common software interface to control all Point Grey FireWire and USB 2.0 cameras using the same API. FlyCapture supports ActiveX, TWAIN and DirectShow interfaces, and includes the FirePRO low-level 1394b interface driver, which enables users to grab images at full 800Mb/s transfer rates. A complete software API library, ready-to-use demo programs, and comprehensive source code examples enable users to easily build custom imaging applications.
